The last days of the internet - painting.
'The last days of the internet' has no relation to its title. It forms part of an endless series of warped portrait and scenario paintings by the artist largely focusing on lone figures engaged in ambiguous or mundane tasks without any clear indication as to their ultimate purpose or meaning. Mutated by their longing for such and their failure to find any, the images try to deal with themes of mortality, faith and the nature of reality by prompting the observer to search for sense where there is none.
This particular painting was completed in early October 2016 on a rainy Wednesday in the artists studio located in south east London using acrylic, ink and oil pastel on a stretched canvas, size 50x50x3cm and is unframed.
